For Great American Family actress Jill Wagner, settling her family in Tennessee was an easy decision.
“We looked in and around North Carolina — couldn’t find anything,” she told Fox News, referring to her own home state. “So, Tennessee — found a piece of property in Tennessee.”
Wagner continued, “I wanted to get married, and I wanted to have my babies in a place that I thought was magical and, since I was born and raised in the country, that was my idea of what was magical. So, we live there.”
Wagner and husband David Lemanowicz live on the farm with daughters Army Gray, 6, and Daisy Roberta, 5.
“My typical day on the farm is I’m out on my front porch in the morning at 6:30, and then I go to my flowers, and then I listen to my husband complain about the tractor being broken and the fence falling down, and the barn roof flew off last night, and then we just repair everything that’s been broken,” Wagner shared. “That is my typical day.”
In a 2025 interview with PEOPLE, Wagner said she had been dreaming of moving back to a place that reminded her of her own childhood.

“I grew up in a small town, so for the 20 years that I lived in LA, I was starved of the things I was used to,” she explained, adding that the slower pace of life in Tennessee “allows us to connect deeper. It forces us to talk to each other because there’s not much going on!”
Wagner continued, “Some friends in LA are like, ‘What do you do there?’ I watch my cows, I garden, I go outside with the girls, we hike. I find my connection on the farm, with human beings and with nature.”
The actress is currently promoting the latest season of LIONESS, where she plays military team leader Bobby.
“I forced myself into this show. I’m the only person that [show creator] Taylor Sheridan didn’t hand pick for the show. We brought it to Taylor, so I forced my way in,” she joked to Yahoo! Entertainment. “However, he believed in me when I said I wanted to play a woman in the military, and he told me I’m going to create a character that is going to test you. And boy did he. But I’m honored to play her because she represents a lot of women that I know.”
During this year’s Great American Christmas programming, Wagner will star alongside Cameron Mathison in AN ACCIDENTAL ARCTIC CHRISTMAS.
