Jill Wagner might be a Hollywood star, but when she’s not on set, the actress enjoys a quiet life in Tennessee.

“First of all, I love Tennessee,” she told Fox News. “I’m from the South. I’m from North Carolina. I love the people here but especially love the small-town mentality.”

Wagner’s life in Tennessee allows her to experience a different way of life — one that, at times, can feel like a step into the past.

“I was at the post office this morning and one of the Mennonites was in front of me…I got to look at their horse and buggy,” the actress said.

The LIONESS star shared her hopes that her own daughters will value — and possibly return to — their rural life.

“In some ways, going back to a simpler, slower pace…I think as we get older, or at least I know I can speak for myself, as I get older, I really value that,” Wagner said, explaining that she left her small town for Hollywood, before coming back to the South as an adult.

She continued, “And I’m sure they’ll do the same, but I hope what it does is bring them back to the simple-ness of life and what it can be…That’s a gift that my husband and I gave them, and they probably don’t even know it yet.”

In a separate interview with Fox News, Wagner shared that she “wanted to have my babies in a place that I thought was magical and, since I was born and raised in the country, that was my idea of what was magical. So, we live there.”

“It’s LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE here,” the actress joked in an interview with People, explaining that her family’s farm life “allows us to connect deeper. It forces us to talk to each other because there’s not much going on!”

Wagner added, “Some friends in L.A. are like, ‘What do you do there?’ I watch my cows, I garden, I go outside with the girls, we hike. I find my connection on the farm, with human beings and with nature.”

While Wagner is no stranger to Hollywood glitz and glamour, the actress is creating a simpler way of life for her family.
