Football fans who follow Atlanta Falcons running back Nathan Carter aren’t surprised to hear him talk about his faith, but he just revealed everything that Jesus is to him.
“Jesus, He is my Lord and Savior. He is the one that I depend on daily. Jesus is my fulfillment. He’s my satisfaction. He’s the reason why I have breath in my lungs. He’s my reason for praise, and He’s the one that deserves all of my worship, all the glory, all the honor in my life,” Carter said on the “Sports Spectrum” podcast.
The athlete continued, “He is my king. He is my father. He is the one that set me free from the penalty of sin, from death and Satan. He is the one that I’m going to see once again. I’m hearing the words, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant.’ Like that’s who Jesus is to me is the one person, living God who has changed my life.”
Carter wants everyone to understand and experience that grace of God that changed his life.
“I pray that Jesus can and He will change the lives of others if they just accept and believe in the goodness and the grace of God that He freely wants to give to everybody else,” the running back added.
Carter puts his faith into action, partnering with Compassion International, a non-profit organization that is focused on “Releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name,” for missions work.
“You’re not just sponsoring a child to change his life for today, but you’re sponsoring a child to change his eternity,” Carter said of the partnership. “Like these children are going to these churches and they’re going to these centers and they’re learning about Christ and they’re coming to know Christ.”

In fact, if children between ages 4 to 14 are involved in church, they’re more likely to believe in Jesus.
“[Compassion is] allowing the local churches the resources and the necessities to be able to get the gospel out to these communities, so that children could be champions for Christ, not just in their young age, but down the road,” he explained.
Carter often speaks about his faith on social media. He recently shared how people can only have one of three responses to Jesus: “Astonished, Appalled, Allegiance.”
Those who are astonished get caught up in who Jesus is but never fully surrender their lives to Him. People who are appalled reject Jesus outright because they don’t want to give up their sinful lifestyles.
Those who have allegiance have given Jesus their lives.
“These are people who completely reorient their allegiance to Jesus Christ and Jesus is their main priority over everything, because nothing in life is better than having Christ,” Carter wrote on Instagram. These are not perfect people, but saved people…Three responses to Jesus Christ; which one will you choose?”
It’s clear that Jesus is the Lord of Carter’s life.
