HGTV’s newest series TOTALLY 90S HOUSE is a total throwback.
“The ’90s called…and we’re answering,” the network posted on Instagram. “Hosted by Jaleel White, #Totally90sHouse follows two teams of your fave ’90s stars as they search the U.S. for houses stuck in the ’90s! Each team will pick their favorite and battle to turn it into a modern masterpiece (with the help of design experts Carter Oosterhouse and Sabrina Soto). The prize? Bragging rights and $25K for their chosen charity!”
The first team is made up of BEVERLY HILLS, 90210’s Brian Austin Green, 7TH HEAVEN’s Beverley Mitchell and FULL HOUSE’s Jodie Sweetin, while the other includes CLARISSA EXPLAINS IT ALL’s Melissa Joan Hart, THE COSBY SHOW’s Keshia Knight Pulliam, BOY MEETS WORLD’s Matthew Lawrence and BLOSSOM’s Joey Lawrence.

Mitchell shared her excitement about the series’ premiere on Instagram, writing, “I could not be more thrilled to share what I have been working on! This show was more than a job, it healed me in a way I never expected!”
“Everybody loves the ‘90s again,” host Jaleel White said in a statement, shared by PEOPLE. “The fits are back, the playlists are on repeat, and kids who weren’t even born yet are binge-watching the shows we made famous. But while some things from the ‘90s are timeless…some of y’all never got the memo that the decade ended.”
He continued, “We asked America to show us the homes still living in the past, and the response was incredible. Now it’s time for the ultimate throwback transformation. Get ready for the biggest ‘90s house battle ever.”
In addition to the renovation crews, 98 Degrees singer Drew Lachey — also a ROCK THE BLOCK competitor — TRADING SPACES host Paige Davis, designer Jonathan Adler and HGTV stars Mina Starsiak Hawk, Vern Yip and Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt will all appear.
HGTV is also launching a partner show on YouTube, HGTV’s HOUSE CALL: ‘90S EDITION.
The series “will take viewers inside the homes of some of their favorite celebrities from the decade, revealing their design style, personal stories and everyday spaces. In each of the six episodes — which are slated to premiere in late August — a do-it-yourself expert will help the celebs tackle a home project on their wish list,” per HGTV’s website.
The first episode of TOTALLY 90S HOUSE premieres Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 9 p.m. ET.
