At 50, Candace Cameron Bure says life just gets better with age.
“Aging is a beautiful thing,” she told Woman’s World. “It means you’ve lived life.”
The actress said she’s officially in her “‘I am who I am, I don’t care what you think of me’ era. And I love it.”
“You know, I love people, I love relationships, but you realize that life is really short. So I’m like, ‘I’m going to be me and do those things, and if you don’t like what I’m doing, that’s okay. You don’t have to. You can move on. That’s fine. I’m still going to be me and it’s not going to affect me if you don’t like what I’m doing,’” Bure explained.

She shared that life “keeps getting better,” adding, “I’ve loved every decade of my life because every decade has gotten better because you become more mature. You get a little wiser and you care a little less about what other people think. But I was a little nervous about — that felt like a really big number. And I woke up on the day and like, it’s really just like any other day. And the truth is, I feel even more confident in it.”
“So don’t be scared,” Bure finished. “The years are beautiful. Enjoy that. You get to live them and know that you get to become wiser with every day that you’re alive and use it to your advantage.”
The FULL HOUSE actress also spoke to The Christian Post about turning 50.
“You think about all the accomplishments in life, your goals, what you want to achieve, what you have achieved,” she reflected. “Yet, as you get older, I know that turning 50 reminded me that the accomplishments and the goals aren’t what I consider successes in life.”
Bure continued, “I think about the legacy that I want to leave with my children, with my grandchildren, and publicly as a public person. That is sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and sharing the love of God.”
While Bure is constantly looking forward, there’s one part of her life the actress wouldn’t mind returning to.
“Honestly, I would love to do the third iteration of FULL HOUSE,” she told Woman’s World. “Like FULLEST HOUSE or something. That would be the dream.”
Bure’s words are a reminder that the lessons life teaches us along the way are the perfect birthday gift as we get older.
