Should You Watch It?

Yes. Muppets Most Wanted is a wild, funny musical romp built to entertain both children and adults. It has more musical numbers than the previous Muppet movie and delivers songs, comic mayhem, and the familiar warmth of Kermit and his friends.

The film also gives your family a clear lesson about selflessness. When the Muppets are told they can do whatever they want, their selfish choices ruin the show. They eventually realize that they need Kermit’s guidance and rules. The movie also includes several positive references to God, including one during a church wedding.

The answer is simple: take the whole family for a joyful comedy with a positive moral message.

The Story

NO SPOILERS — WE KEEP THE SURPRISES

Kermit and the Muppets launch an overseas tour after their last movie. Their new tour manager, Dominic, seems helpful, but he has a hidden partnership with Constantine, the world’s Number One Criminal.

Constantine looks exactly like Kermit and uses that resemblance to switch places with him. Soon, Kermit is in a Russian Gulag while Constantine and Dominic lead the Muppets toward a plan involving the Crown Jewels of England.

Is It Any Good?

Four stars means this is excellent family entertainment. Muppets Most Wanted is another wild, fun ride led by Kermit and the other Muppets. It has a lively musical focus, with songs for Dominic and Constantine, Constantine’s love song to Miss Piggy, a duet between Miss Piggy and Céline Dion, and a prison revue led by Kermit.

The film is not quite as good as the last Muppet movie, but it has more musical numbers. Its comedy, songs, and affectionate characters make it a delightful romp for children and adults alike.

The Worldview

The film strongly supports working together and opposing selfishness. Its central moral lesson is clear: when everyone does whatever he or she wants, the result is disorder and failure. The Muppets eventually recognize that they need Kermit’s guidance and rules.

The movie also presents Christian and redemptive content. It includes several positive references and appeals to God, including a reference during a wedding scene by an Anglican pastor. The review connects the film’s moral guidelines with God, Jesus Christ, and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.

The story’s central longing is for a community shaped by selflessness rather than personal desire. Scripture gives the same direction: “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves” (Philippians 2:3).
