The Story
NO SPOILERS — WE KEEP THE SURPRISESPaul Potts has loved opera since childhood, but years of bullying have left him without confidence. Few people believe in him.
Then Paul meets Julie-Ann, a woman he has known through online messages. Her encouragement leads him to enter a talent competition and pursue professional opera training. Soon, Paul faces the opportunity to perform before an important idol—but fear threatens to overwhelm the dream he has carried for years.
Is It Any Good?
Four stars means this is a superbly made, highly enjoyable film. One Chance is both funny and heartwarming, and the acting is excellent.
James Corden does a remarkable job playing Paul Potts. The story is compelling and inspiring, though its structure is sometimes episodic. Otherwise, the production is very well done.

One Chance presents a strong Christian, moral worldview. It shows that encouragement, courage, and hard work can help a person use the gifts God gave him and accomplish great things.
