The Story
NO SPOILERS — WE KEEP THE SURPRISESCOYOTE VS. ACME begins at the Acme Corporation, where questionable product testing takes a turn for the worse. Meanwhile, Wile E. Coyote is still chasing the Road Runner, armed with a growing pile of broken Acme products and a new plan to take the company to court.
Coyote brings his case to Kevin Avery, a lazy Albuquerque lawyer who usually handles small lawsuits against Acme. But when a cartoon office assistant files a much larger case against the company, Kevin suddenly finds himself facing Acme's ruthless attorney, Buddy Crane.
As the lawsuit drains Kevin's small law office, an anonymous informant offers a mysterious tip that could change everything. Coyote's case soon becomes much bigger than either he or Kevin expected, leading to plenty of cartoon chaos, courtroom antics, and a few surprises along the way.
Is It Any Good?
Three stars, and they feel fair. COYOTE VS. ACME brings the Looney Tunes characters into a colorful mix of live action and animation, with enough goofy humor and nostalgic charm to keep things moving. The courtroom premise gives Wile E. Coyote a fresh role, while the ending delivers a few amusing twists and some genuine warmth.
The strongest moments come from the movie's themes of purpose, persistence, and friendship. Wile E. Coyote refuses to give up, even when his plans repeatedly fail, and his determination gives the story more substance than its slapstick setup might suggest.
The movie loses some steam in the middle and could benefit from a tighter edit. Cartoon violence and brief, light foul language also keep it from being an effortless family pick.
