DAREDEVIL: RABBIT IN A SNOWSTORM opens with a brutal murder in a bowling alley by a man named John Healy. Matt and Foggy are hired to defend the man. At first, Matt refuses until he realizes that Healy is linked to the bigger crime. Karen, who’s now working for Matt and Foggy enlists the help of Ben Urich, a reporter who can look into Union Allied, a sketchy company that seems to tie the crimes together. Delving into darker territory, this episode reveals the powers that Matt opposes. In trial, Matt tells the jury about the blurry line between good and evil, noting that evil “is like pornography: You know it when you see it.” He says that even if there isn’t enough evidence to convict his defendant, he will be judged in eternity. Murdock, aka Daredevil, who doesn’t believe entirely in the judicial system, has no problem stopping these bad guys on the street. This episode is a more compelling episode in its discussion of the judicial system and eternal justice, but the violence at beginning and end are hard to endure.
