HGTV is searching for real homeowners to star in five of its most popular renovation shows this fall, from FIXER TO FABULOUS to PROPERTY BROTHERS, offering families a shot at a free remodel and a turn on cable television.

“God led us to this opportunity because He opened the door,” Jenny Marrs said of FIXER TO FABULOUS, the Bentonville, Arkansas-based series she hosts with her husband, Dave. “He put this in our lives in order to put programming on television that glorifies Him in some way.”

That kind of intentionality is exactly why Movieguide® has followed the Marrs family closely since FIXER TO FABULOUS first aired. Jenny said that she and Dave see every renovation as a chance to “bring light into the world,” not just flip a house for ratings.

FIXER TO FABULOUS, reportedly renewed for a ninth season, is now casting homeowners who live within 30 minutes of Benton County and have a renovation budget above $120,000, according to Entertainment Now. HGTV’s official casting site confirms the search is active, inviting applicants who want to “renovate your older home.”

UGLIEST HOUSE IN AMERICA, hosted by Alison Victoria and Retta, wants homes with “clashing patterns, confusing layout” or “strange add-ons” for a shot at a $150,000 renovation. HGTV’s casting page puts it more bluntly, asking whether “your home is super ugly.”

ZILLOW GONE WILD, hosted by comedian Jack McBrayer, is casting its fourth season while its third is still airing, looking for “bold, one-of-a-kind, fantastical homes” that have recently been listed or purchased.

PROPERTY BROTHERS, the long-running hit from twin brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott, needs homeowners in the greater Los Angeles area willing to relocate for eight to ten weeks during construction, with renovation budgets starting at $150,000. Movieguide® has chronicled the Scotts’ rise from struggling contractors to one of HGTV’s most bankable duos.

MY LOTTERY DREAM HOME, entering its 21st season with host David Bromstad, has the narrowest casting call of the bunch. Applicants must have actually won the lottery before they can shop for their dream house on camera.

HGTV warns that legitimate casting for its shows runs exclusively through vetted production companies, urging would-be applicants to be wary of anyone requesting money or sensitive personal information during the process.

For Movieguide® readers, the appeal here goes beyond a free kitchen. FIXER TO FABULOUS has built its audience in part because it’s a show a family can watch together without bracing for objectionable content, a rarer commodity on cable than it should be. Dave and Jenny Marrs have said repeatedly that their platform exists to point people toward faith, not just fresh paint and open floor plans.

Applications for all five series are open now through HGTV’s official casting portal, and production companies are expected to start reaching out to selected homeowners in the coming weeks. Families interested in FIXER TO FABULOUS, UGLIEST HOUSE IN AMERICA, ZILLOW GONE WILD, PROPERTY BROTHERS or MY LOTTERY DREAM HOME can find full eligibility details and submission forms directly through HGTV’s casting page.
