“Our viewers are ROCK THE BLOCK superfans who tune in every season to see the best in home renovation and design,” said Howard Lee, Chief Creative Officer, US Networks, Warner Bros. Discovery, in an announcement about the show. “That’s why we’re bringing back all-stars who’ve already survived the high-stakes pressure of the block, pitting them against design legends who are new to the competition and ready to take them on.”
This season of ROCK THE BLOCK will take place in a new city: Nashville.
“Armed with Music City inspiration and decades of design and renovation know-how, four dynamic teams of experts will take the stage for a home reno showdown highlighting classic Southern architecture and small-town living,” a press release from HGTV reads. “The prize: ultimate bragging rights and a street named in the winning team’s honor.”
The press release continues, “In a ROCK THE BLOCK first, this season will spotlight homes that offer identical floor plans and square footage but unique exterior facades. Each team will have seven weeks and a $275,000 budget to transform the properties with their signature vision and custom design style and clinch the highest appraised property value.”
Host Ty Pennington has previously spoken about working on the show with so many familiar TV renovation peers.
“You have some really great human beings,” he told TV Insider. “I love it. Every season my little TV family gets bigger and bigger. That’s what it’s all about. That’s what social media should be. About people supporting one another. It’s great to have that sort of network and the actual network behind you, which is also nice.”
ROCK THE BLOCK Season 8 will premiere in early 2027.
