Candace Cameron Bure is thrilled by the revival she sees happening in America.
“It is so exciting to be here in this moment, and in 2026 reading the entire Bible aloud to the world, not just our nation, I mean, we are celebrating it as a nation, but I very much feel that revival is here, because this is historic,” the FULL HOUSE actress told Fox News anchor Shannon Bream, referring to the America Reads the Bible event which took place last month.
The Bible transformed Bure’s life.
“The Bible really changed my life. I mean, of course, the gospel of Jesus Christ changed my life, but I hate to admit how many times I have started and stopped reading the Bible in my life,” she said. “So, if I’ve been a Christian since I was 12 years old, I didn’t actually read the entire Bible chronologically within a year until about six years ago.”

Just as reading God’s word transformed her life, Bure wanted to instill a love of scripture in her children too. That meant she needed to be reading the Bible more.
“[I] really dove into the Bible, and my faith was so strengthened because I was a new mom,” she said. “I wanted to know who God was so that I could teach my kids. I wanted to pass it down. I wanted to be able to cultivate a relationship or help them cultivate relationship in their life with God.”
Though Bure took a 10-year break from acting to raise her children, she now uses her platform to point fans to God.
“I thought to myself, ‘Wow, God, you’ve given me an opportunity that some people don’t have,’ because I do have a public platform now,” she said. “So I’m going to make movies and preach the gospel. I am going to share stories and preach the gospel.”
The America Reads the Bible event ran from April 18 to April 25, 2026, in Washington D.C. Other Hollywood stars including Patricia Heaton, Cameron and BJ Arnett, Dean Cain and Julia Reilly, among others, also read the Bible, alongside political and religious leaders. The event was live streamed so that people all over the world could join in.
2 Timothy 4:2 emphasizes the importance of reading God’s words. It says, “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage — with great patience and careful instruction.”
Bure continues to inspire us to love God, love others and love our nation.
