Country singer Anne Wilson has a message for anyone worried that waiting on God is wasted time.
“Hey, girl, stop scrolling,” she addressed her Instagram followers in a recent video. “If you are in a season of waiting, I want to encourage you that this time is not wasted.”
She continued, “Waiting is one of the hardest things that we have to do on this side of Heaven, in my opinion,” explaining that, whether it’s “waiting for an answered prayer,” or “waiting for God,” it can all be “so hard.”
“Waiting can feel like torture at times, especially for the things that we desire that are good things,” Wilson said, sharing that she has been in her own waiting season “where I’m longing for certain things that just aren’t happening and aren’t taking place, and having to choose joy in the midst of that.”

The singer then shared some words of encouragement for anyone in the same boat: “This time is not wasted. God is using this time to develop in you [what] He needs from you.”
“You will look back on this time and see, ‘Oh, God was using that. God was using that time, and He’s with me through it,’” Wilson concluded.
Wilson has previously shared similar messages about waiting seasons; in a video from 2024, the singer said, “It’s sometimes so hard in the world that we live in today to be okay, to feel the emotions that we’re going through, but I love the sweetness and the reminder in this, that when we do feel those emotions, it leads to healing, intimacy, peace.”
“Whatever you’re waiting on today, whatever longing that you’re waiting to be fulfilled know that when in time it is fulfilled it will be like a tree of life that produces fruit and goodness,” Wilson explained.
Wilson recently released a new single, titled, “Who I Am To You.”
“There are so many voices telling us who we’re supposed to be, but the most important voice is the One who created us,” she wrote in an Instagram caption. “My prayer is that this song reminds you to silence the lies, let go of the labels, and hold onto what God says is true. You are known. You are loved. You are His. I hope this song helps you see yourself a little more through His eyes.”
Wilson’s recent message is a reminder that, even in seasons of waiting, God is still working all things for good.
