Should You Watch It?
TRANSPORTER 3 is great fun. It delivers plenty of action and tells a more compelling story than the new James Bond thriller, according to this review. Jason Statham plays Frank Martin with “utmost flair,” and his martial arts skill makes the hero especially entertaining to watch.
The movie also gives you a hero with morally redeeming qualities. Frank refuses to leave the girl to save himself, even before he knows her well, making it easy to root for his success.
The tradeoff is content that may trouble some families: foul language and brief sexual content. For teenagers and adults, especially those comfortable making that discernment, this is a strong action choice. For younger children, choose something else. The practical answer: WORTH THE TRIP — AGES 13 AND UP.
The Story
NO SPOILERS — WE KEEP THE SURPRISESFrank Martin is a tough, mysterious transporter who accepts a dangerous assignment involving a young Ukrainian woman named Valentina and a mysterious package. Their journey from France to Odessa on the Black Sea becomes even more perilous when both wear steel bands that will explode if they get too far from Frank’s car.
As Frank follows his instructions, he tries to uncover what is happening and protect Valentina. Along the way, danger, betrayal, and unexpected affection complicate the job.
Is It Any Good?
Four stars means this review considers TRANSPORTER 3 excellent entertainment. It has plenty of action and a much more compelling story than its Bond competition.
Jason Statham carries the lead role with great flair, and his martial arts ability makes Frank Martin especially fun to watch. The supporting cast is also praised, including Natalya Rudakova as Valentina, Francois Berleand as Inspector Tarconi, and Robert Knepper as the villain, Johnson.
The Worldview
The film presents a strong moral conflict centered on stopping international villains involved in blackmail, extortion, and kidnapping. Its hero is not merely protecting himself; he refuses to abandon Valentina, showing loyalty and self-sacrifice. Those qualities give the story a morally redeeming center.
The review also notes environmentalist elements, including a government official’s politically correct and scientifically invalid claim that current pollution levels and alleged man-made climate change could destroy the whole planet. That idea mars an otherwise strong moral worldview.
