COUNTRY EVER AFTER, a reality TV show streaming on Netflix, follows the Anderson family who hold fast to their faith in God, work ethic and sacrifice. Country singer Coffey Anderson and his hip-hop dancer wife Criscilla offer an intimate look into their family as they work to raise their three children, navigate their careers, and keep God at the center no matter the hardship or the joy.
Episode one of season one, “Meet the Andersons,” opens with a Facebook video from country singer Coffey Anderson’s page. Coffey and his wife Criscilla are waking up, and he asks her what “Y-E-S” spells. Criscilla of course says “Yes.” But when he says “What does E-Y-E-S spell?” she says “E-Yes?” instead of “Eyes.” That video got more than 50 million views online.
The audience is then introduced to independent country singer and father, Coffey Anderson. From the outset, Coffey shows he’s a man of faith who cares for his family. He also extols a good work ethic in his career. Next, the program introduces viewers to his wife, Criscilla. She’s is a professional hip hop dancer and also a mother to the couple’s three children.
After introductions are made, the episode offers a more intimate look into the Anderson family’s everyday lives. Criscilla is exercising for her dance career, and Coffey is set to film a video dedication; which is one of the ways Coffey connects with fans and continues his independent music career.
After Coffey’s video dedication and details about his music career, Criscilla attends one of her dance classes, and there are more details on her personal battle with Stage 3 colon cancer. Criscilla preserves through it all by faith in God and in herself to beat the cancer and care for her family.
The Anderson family is rooted in Christian faith, and Coffey’s invited to share his testimony at a local school. He offers the children truth from the Gospel. He urges them to put their future in God’s hands and work hard at everything they do, since he knows first-hand how blessing and brokenness often come together.
“Meet the Andersons” is full of strong Christian, biblical, morally uplifting values. The Andersons strive to keep God at the center of their careers, family and Criscilla’s ongoing battle with cancer. The episode features multiple prayers and references to God. The program champions the importance of family, hard work and sacrificial love. As noted above, Coffey shares his testimony at a school and quotes Scripture to inspire the schoolchildren to work hard and put faith and trust in God. “Meet the Andersons” shows the reality of cancer but also the firm faith and love the Andersons show toward God, their family and everyone around them. Episode 1 of COUNTRY EVER AFTER is a great faith-filled, family show.
