Tim Tebow just shared a story about the importance of being bold in your faith.
“What you’re going through is exactly what God had intended for you to go through. Because God is somehow also going to use that frustration, that setback, that disappointment, that whatever it is,” he said in a video shared to his Instagram page.
Tebow continued, “One of my favorite stories about my dad was, he was preaching in a remote village, and there was a guy. He’s holding a machete and he’s walking forward. My dad just feels this prick on his heart to start talking about forgiveness.”
“So, he’s preaching on forgiveness as this guy’s walking forward. He walks up to the front, and my dad’s speaking. He said, ‘I want you to know that I came here to kill you. And I want to ask if you would forgive me,’” he finished.

In the video’s caption, Tebow wrote, “Boldness isn’t the absence of fear. It’s saying yes in the face of fear. Whatever you’re walking through — God intended it, and He’s using it.”
The former football star recently lost his father; Bob Tebow died in April this year after a 10-year battle with Parkinson’s disease.
In an Instagram tribute for his father, Tebow wrote, “Heaven ushered in a hero of the faith last night as my Dad was welcomed home!”
“Many will say sorry for your loss but the truth is he’s not lost, we know exactly where he is. He’s home. Forever!” he continued. “I asked him last week what he looked forward to most about Heaven, and he simply said, ‘Jesus.’”
Tebow wrote, “He couldn’t wait to see Jesus face to face. Praise God that his wait is over. Death has been swallowed up in victory. He’s healed and whole now. So we don’t mourn as those with no hope. See you soon Dad!”
The former NFL star prioritizes sharing his faith with others — something he will do more of through new partnership with Lighthouse Verticals, a faith-based microdrama platform. Tebow is set to executive produce projects for Lighthouse.
“I believe stories have the power to change how people see themselves, see others, and ultimately see Jesus,” Tebow said in a statement. “We’re committed to telling stories with excellence and our hope is that, ultimately, we can glorify God in the process.”
Tebow’s story is a reminder about the importance of standing strong in your faith, as well as a sweet tribute to his late father.
