Get ready for more COCOMELON — the popular franchise recently launched a new spin-off series, THE MELON PATCH.
“THE MELON PATCH is COCOMELON’s brand-new live-action educational series, where beloved teacher Ms. Appleberry and her team of talented teachers bring essential toddler milestones and topics to life through music, creativity and play,” a statement on the company’s website reads. “Rooted in COCOMELON’s pillars of music, education and story, each episode blends engaging storytime, hands-on fun and surprise guest stars to joyfully support your child’s early development.”
In a statement obtained by Deadline, Nicole Rivera, Senior Creative Executive at COCOMELON, said the series’ “engaging, play-along curriculum is relatable for kids and rewarding for parents, bringing COCOMELON to life in a whole new way.”
Allie Rivera Quinonez stars as Ms. Appleberry, leading children through segments and songs that are both educational and entertaining.

In an interview with Parents, Quinonez explained that THE MELON PATCH encourages “engagement over passive viewing,” with the episodes designed to get children up and moving.
“We always encourage our viewers to get up and move with us,” she shared. “Not only does it reinforce the song, but it also gets them moving and helps them develop new motor skills. We have quite a few more songs with all the teachers together, and our ‘Music and Me with Ms. Appleberry’ segments, all of which help encourage social and emotional development, an area I think is sorely lacking in a lot of children’s content.”
Quinonez explained that the musical tools used in THE MELON PATCH are “effective” and “really enhance…the experience for our audience at home.”
“In our water play episode, for example, the children have little streamers that they move along to specific points in the music: hands up for ‘splish,’ down for ‘splash,’” she said. “This encourages them to focus on the words, what they mean, and then respond with movement, all while singing along.”
The actress has some real-world proof that THE MELON PATCH is working for its young viewers.
“My toddler is learning and growing her language skills right now,” Quinonez said. “She particularly loves the dino episode [of THE MELON PATCH] with Josh Peck and has responded well to our color episode. My daughter is now able to call out the colors as we sing them on the show. It’s a pretty magical experience.”
