THE TERMINAL LIST has an Oct. 21 return date for Season 2, but a third season remains unconfirmed.

“This season is a love letter to the Special Operations community,” actor and executive producer Chris Pratt said of Season 2.

A third chapter has yet to be announced, but Prime Video hasn’t ruled out the possibility of revisiting Pratt’s character, Navy SEAL Commander James Reece, as the franchise expands beyond its original revenge story, according to TV Insider.

What Amazon has announced is specific: its 2026 programming presentation set THE TERMINAL LIST Season 2 for Oct. 21 and identified True Believer, author and former Navy SEAL Jack Carr’s second James Reece novel, as the source material.

Amazon’s separate Season 2 preview says all eight episodes will arrive together on Prime Video. Pratt returns as Reece, with a story that moves beyond the original list of targets and sends him into an international conspiracy tied to his family’s history.

The confirmed second-season cast includes Tom Hopper as Raife Hastings and Constance Wu as journalist Katie Buranek.

For fans looking ahead, Carr’s books offer a possible direction rather than a production announcement. TV Insider pointed to Savage Son as the next novel afterTrue Believer, making it an obvious subject of discussion about where another season could go.

There is also a separate series to keep straight: THE TERMINAL LIST: DARK WOLF. Amazon describes that project as a prequel following actor Taylor Kitsch’s Ben Edwards from the Navy SEALs into CIA Special Operations, seven years before the events of the original series.

That earlier setting makes DARK WOLF a different part of the story, not another numbered season of THE TERMINAL LIST. Its existence demonstrates that the franchise has more than one branch.

For families deciding what belongs on their watchlist, the confirmed material also sets expectations about the kind of story ahead. Amazon describes Season 2 as an action thriller involving violent redemption, espionage and military operations, rather than a family adventure.

“I’m incredibly proud of the journey we went on and what we were able to put on screen,” Pratt said of the second season. “It was a monumental effort by a lot of people over the course of many years, and I think you can feel that commitment in every frame. Yes, it’s an action thriller, but there’s also real beauty and poetry in it. At its heart, this season is dedicated to the men and women who do this work — the people who operate in the shadows, make extraordinary sacrifices, and rarely ask for recognition. We wanted to honor them and get it right. I couldn’t be more proud of what we made.”

Movieguide® advised caution for TERMINAL LIST Season 1 due to extreme violence and profanity, while also praising its moral, patriotic themes.

For now, fans will have to wait to see if Prime Video wants a third season.
