SESAME STREET is getting ready to bring pop hits to playtime with a new album of kid-friendly song parodies of today’s top songs.
“Billboard can exclusively reveal…that SESAME STREET is putting the building blocks together to release an adorable album featuring kid-friendly parodies of some of pop music’s biggest hits,” the outlet announced.
The album, titled Parody Party, will include three previously released satirical songs and four new takes — for example, “Take A Bite,” a Cookie Monster-themed spin on Bruno Mars’ “I Just Might.”

“SESAME STREET has always been at the forefront of popular culture, using music as a powerful way to connect with each new generation,” Aaron Bisman, svp, head of marketing for Sesame Workshop, said in a statement. “From iconic original songs to clever, catchy parodies, music has long helped us engage the adults in young children’s lives while bringing our educational mission to life in fresh, engaging ways. Parody Party marks an exciting new chapter in SESAME STREET’s musical history and reinforces our ongoing commitment to creativity, innovation and cultural relevance.”
This isn’t the only exciting project SESAME STREET has in the works. Netflix recently won the rights to a full-length SESAME STREET movie.
Rideback, the production company behind the live-action LILO & STITCH and ALADDIN movies, is set to produce.
“The company had already been working with Sesame Workshop, the company behind the show, on an animation project, and was able to get an early jump,” The Hollywood Reporter revealed. “Sesame Workshop will be involved in a producer capacity as well.”
SESAME STREET and Netflix have been partners for some time now, with new episodes dropping on the streamer starting in 2025.
“This unique public-private partnership will enable Sesame Workshop to bring our research-based curriculum to young children around the world with Netflix’s global reach, while ensuring children in communities across the U.S. continue to have free access on public television to the Sesame Street they love,” said Sherri Westin, CEO of Sesame Workshop, in a statement at the time.
SESAME STREET’s Parody Party will be available to purchase and stream on July 26.
