Lacey Chabert stars in Hallmark+’s romantic series, PARIS IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA, and she loves it.
“It’s so amazing here,” she said of Paris. “Everything feels magical.”
In the series, she stars as Chelsea, a nonprofit fundraising expert who visits three ex-flames she met on a post-college trek across Europe years ago.
“She left the trip because her mom became sick,” saud Chabert.
Chelsea’s mom died, and now her dad, Glenn, has a new girlfriend, which is hard for her to accept. It was her mom’s dying wish that Chelsea go back to Europe and find love.
“She doesn’t only revisit the relationships and the guys, but also who she was in those moments,” explained Chabert. “It causes her to reflect on who she is now and where she possibly wants to go.”
If three love interests weren’t enough, Chelsea is joined in Paris by her co-worker, Jason.

“He’s got a fun little ‘flanter’ —which is flirty banter — type relationship with Chelsea,” said the actress.
Showrunner Lauren Muir was thrilled that they could film at famous landmarks in Paris. They film on the Eiffel Tower.
“The hardest part is the hours, because obviously we have to go after they’re closed,” said Muir. “I still can’t believe [we got] to do it. The biggest surprise in this process was how often I kept waiting for someone to say, ‘Well, obviously we’re going to have to move that scene,’ and yet here we are.”
Chabert said the show is actually a deep dive on emotions.
“It’s not only a great sweeping love story; it’s also a very emotional story about overcoming grief,” she described. “It doesn’t dwell on it. It’s actually uplifting. But sometimes you have to go through some pain to really get to the other side.”
Scott Michael Foster, who plays Jason on the show, thoroughly enjoyed the project.
“I hadn’t worked with Lacey before, and I know she’s quite affectionately known as the queen of Hallmark for a good reason,” he explained. “She gets it. She comes super prepared and she knows her stuff. She’s a sweetheart. So I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in this journey.”
