Ben and Erin Napier’s HOME TOWN TAKEOVER is officially Emmy-nominated.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate a Daytime Emmy @televisionacad nomination for HOME TOWN TAKEOVER in the Outstanding Instructional/How-To Program category!” RTR Media, the production company behind the show, posted on Instagram.
The caption continued, “This recognition is a celebration of the incredible passion, creativity, and teamwork of so many talented people that brought this series to life. We’re so grateful to @hgtv for believing in the power of small towns and for giving us the opportunity to share these inspiring stories.”
HOME TOWN TAKEOVER follows Ben and Erin Napier as they “lead a major overhaul to revitalize a small town.”

“We’re incredibly proud of the impact HOME TOWN TAKEOVER has had in helping communities across the country come together, celebrate their unique character, and imagine what’s possible,” RTR Media wrote, thanking their “amazing production partners, crews, local partners, and everyone who poured their talent and heart into this series,” as well as the Napiers “for their unwavering passion for small towns and the people who call them home.”
The caption concluded, “Congratulations to the entire HOME TOWN family — we’re so proud to share this moment with you!”
The next season of HOME TOWN TAKEOVER will look a little different; with the new episodes taking place in Canada, RENOVATION ISLAND’s Bryan and Sarah Baeumler will host instead of the Napiers.
“Our production company is Canadian. The people who make our show, they’re passionate about this Canadian takeover,” Erin told CinemaBlend in a 2025 interview. “But, because we are Americans, we are not legally allowed to host the show. We can only be in it as, like, guest stars.”
Ben added, “Yeah, a Canadian broadcast show has to be hosted by Canadian talent. 90%; I think 90 was the number. I thought it was just a majority.”
The Baeumlers are more than up to the task, though. In a recent Instagram video, the couple spoke about their upcoming challenge.
“We’ve got just three months to completely transform a small Canadian town and bring it back to life,” Sarah said, with Bryan adding, “That’s a lot of work, and this might be one of our biggest challenges yet.”
Sarah continued, “We’re using everything we’ve learned over the years to help keep this town’s heart beating.”
The latest season of HOME TOWN TAKEOVER premieres this fall on HGTV. In the meantime, fans are hopeful the show will take home a trophy at the Emmys.
