NBC has renewed HAPPY’S PLACE for a third season, keeping Reba McEntire’s tavern-owning heroine pouring drinks and dispensing wisdom through the 2026-27 TV season.
“Both ST. DENIS MEDICAL and HAPPY’S PLACE have delivered comedic brilliance over their first two seasons, truly connecting with our audience with hilarious characters, and remain hugely important and successful programs to our primetime and Peacock lineup,” said Lisa Katz, President of Scripted Content for NBC and Peacock, in a statement announced alongside the renewal.
“A huge thank you to the producers, casts and crews of both shows who have brought these wonderful stories to life and will now continue to tell their laugh-out-loud stories,” Katz added.
Season 3 premieres Friday, Oct. 23, at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. CT) on NBC, with new episodes streaming the next day on Peacock, according to Popverse. That puts HAPPY’S PLACE back in its familiar Friday-night slot for a third year running.
The sitcom follows Bobbie (McEntire), who inherits her late father’s tavern only to discover she has an unexpected new business partner: Isabella (Belissa Escobedo), the half-sister she never knew existed. Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk and Rex Linn round out the cast, per TV Insider. Kevin and Julie Abbott created the series, which McEntire executive produces alongside Kevin Abbott, Michael Hanel, Mindy Schultheis, Matt Berry and Pamela Fryman for Universal Television.

The renewal follows a season that leaned hard into that sisterly tension. HAPPY’S PLACE’s April finale found Isabella talking Bobbie into therapy together, unearthing years of resentment Bobbie had buried toward her father for keeping Isabella’s existence hidden from her, Popverse reported.
Eric Stonestreet, who guest-starred as the couples therapist who walked the sisters through it, told NBC Insider the storyline struck a chord.
“I was just blown away by some of the realness of the dialogue between them and the beauty of the things that [Bobbie and Emmett] said to each other,” Stonestreet said. “They’re showing what it’s like to be an adult, be experienced in relationships, and know how to navigate treacherous waters in the most respectful and best way for them. So I have a good feeling for them.”
NBC had reason to like its odds. HAPPY’S PLACE’s Jan. 23 episode, “The Name Game,” ranked as Season 2’s best performer in total viewers, CBR reported — a data point that likely helped seal the deal alongside fellow NBC comedy ST. DENIS MEDICAL, which was renewed the same day.
There’s something quietly redemptive built into HAPPY’S PLACE’s whole premise. Two sisters, thrown together by grief and a father’s secret, choose to fight for a relationship instead of walking away from one another. It’s a sitcom about forgiveness dressed up as a bar comedy — the kind of story families can watch together without wincing.
Season 1 of HAPPY’S PLACE premiered in October 2024, and Season 2 launched in November 2025 before wrapping its run in April 2026. Fans will get their next round at Bobbie’s bar this fall.
