Atlanta Falcons running back Nathan Carter is ready for the 2026-2027 NFL season to begin, and he’s going to keep using his platform to proclaim the name of Jesus.
“Every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father,” Carter wrote on Instagram earlier this week, referencing Philippians 2:10-11.
“Those who have responded to the gospel with faith and repentance will do so gladly and willingly,” he continued. “Those who have hardened their hearts to the call of the gospel will do so with great fear and trembling…You have the choice to make.”
This isn’t the first time Carter has challenged his followers with the truth.
“The life we live here on Earth matters. Because the way we live here will reflect how we will experience eternity. I saw this quote the other day and I was truly moved by it,” the running back wrote in another post in April. “I pray for the one the reads this that you may ponder on the reality that a life lived for selfish ambition will lead to a life of empty glory and eternal ruin. And that you would put your faith in the one who is the Way, the Truth and The Life, Jesus Christ.”

“I pray for one who reads that professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior that we will be willing to suffer and to pour ourselves out all to the cause of Christ because that is what He did for us,” he continued. “And in doing so, knowing that we will receive a crown of righteous from King Jesus Himself for our faithful perseverance the day we see Him again.”
He knows that Christ offers His followers so much more than the world ever could.
“There is more to life than being rich or famous. There is more to life than having lots of followers. There is more to life than material possessions, smoking, drinking, and partying every weekend. There is more to life than those meaningless idols that you’re chasing. There is more,” Carter explained in March.
“God has so much more for you. He has purposes for your life that are beyond human imagination. Promises that He wants to fulfill through you. Blessings that He wants to give you. A relationship that He desires to have with you. And so much more,” he emphasized.
For Carter, football is a platform, not the point — every post, every game, every choice comes back to one urgent message: that a life built on Christ outweighs anything the world can offer.
