HGTV Star Can’t Get Enough of How Her Husband Loves Their Family

HGTV designer and HOME TOWN co-host Erin Napier has plenty of reasons to admire her husband, woodworker and fellow host Ben Napier, but this week she started with a love letter written before sunrise.

“The biggest and strongest man in the room, who wrote his wife a love letter at 4:30 am,” Erin wrote in a sweet Instagram tribute to Ben.

The note came with a portrait of a husband and father whose days stretch well beyond the renovation projects viewers watch on television. Erin praised his education, artistry and mechanical skills, then turned to the smaller things that matter inside their family.

One of those details involved their daughter’s wish to hold a monarch butterfly. Erin described Ben getting up early to plant butterfly bushes for her, alongside evenings spent reading and that very early-morning gesture for his wife.

There is something wonderfully specific about that combination: a man who can tackle practical work, make something beautiful and still pay attention to what his little girl hopes to find in the backyard. Erin’s message did not celebrate a television milestone; it celebrated the person beside her.

“There is not another man anything like him, and I think about this often,” Erin closed.

The couple are working on HOME TOWN’s 11th season, TV Insider reported, with their latest chapter bringing more renovation work in Laurel, Mississippi. They also share daughters Helen and Mae, making the partnership behind the show a family life as well as a working one.

Erin had already given followers a look at the rhythm behind that work in an Aug. 1 Instagram update. She described a typical production day and explained that the schedule runs throughout the year.

“We just came back to filming from our summer break,” she wrote.

She also credited the people who help keep that schedule manageable: a sitter who stays with the girls while their parents work, and Erin’s own parents, who fill in too. Her account made room for the support behind the on-camera partnership, rather than presenting a busy household as a two-person operation.

The show’s future has a wider runway, too. In a network announcement carried by The Futon Critic, HGTV extended HOME TOWN for 32 additional episodes shooting through 2027, alongside a new multiyear talent deal with the Napiers.

That production commitment does not supply a Season 11 premiere date. TV Insider still lists the new season’s arrival as to be announced, so viewers have a behind-the-scenes update rather than a date to circle just yet.

Ben has described the everyday side of fatherhood before. In a 2022 Laurel Mercantile journal feature about being a dad, he emphasized showing up for his daughters in practical ways, including being ready when a little girl asks for a bedtime song.

“Learn how to sing or at least pretend like you know how to sing, because when your little girl asks you to sing to her at bedtime, you better be ready,” he said.

That older advice fits neatly beside Erin’s latest account of butterfly bushes and a handwritten letter. Neither gesture needs a camera crew or a grand reveal; both begin with noticing what someone else would love.

For viewers who enjoy the Napiers’ teamwork, Erin’s tribute offers a glimpse of the care she notices when the workday ends. This time, the small gestures at home — not a renovation reveal — gave her something to celebrate.
