Parents who once fought their kids for control of the CD player are about to hand the CAMP ROCK torch to the next generation.
“Music, friendship, memories — we’re back,” Nick Jonas said in the first teaser for CAMP ROCK 3, with brother Joe Jonas adding, “Exactly where we’re supposed to be,” according to TVLine.
CAMP ROCK 3 premieres on Disney Channel Aug. 13 and streams on Disney+ the following day, Aug. 14, EntertainmentNow reported. Both earlier CAMP ROCK movies remain available on Disney+, so families short on memory can catch up before the new one lands.
The third installment finds Connect 3 — the band fronted by Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas’s characters Shane, Nate and Jason Gray — down an opening act right before a big reunion tour. The trio heads back to Camp Rock to scout the next big thing, and the campers competing for the gig end up tangled in rivalries, alliances and a little romance along the way.
Maria Canals-Barrera returns as Connie Torres, the camp cook and mother of Mitchie, the breakout star of the original 2008 movie. Demi Lovato won’t appear on screen this time, but she’s back as an executive producer, and her legend within the fictional camp is still very much part of the story.

A new crop of campers rounds out the cast, including Liamani Segura as Sage, Malachi Barton as Fletch, Lumi Pollack as cello prodigy Rosie, Hudson Stone as Sage’s brother Desi and Casey Trotter as Cliff.
What makes CAMP ROCK worth a second look, nearly two decades later, isn’t only nostalgia. Long before Connect 3 ever topped a fictional tour, Joe, Nick and Kevin grew up singing in their father’s church, where he served as pastor of an Assemblies of God congregation in New Jersey, Fox News reported.
That upbringing shows up in the kind of franchise CAMP ROCK became. The first two movies carried Disney Channel’s cleanest rating, and nothing in the marketing for CAMP ROCK 3 suggests that’s changing.
For a movie built around a singing competition, the stakes stay refreshingly earthbound. There’s no toxic love triangle, no cutthroat sabotage, just teenagers figuring out that talent and friendship don’t have to compete with each other — which, gently, is the whole point.
It’s also part of a bigger pattern. Disney keeps returning to the catalog that raised today’s parents, betting that the appeal isn’t just what their kids will enjoy, but what parents get to hand down: a clean story, set to a decent beat, that they trust enough to watch twice.
CAMP ROCK 3 doesn’t appear to be reinventing that formula, and for parents doing the summer streaming math, that consistency is the actual selling point. Movieguide® has tracked the franchise’s return since the sequel was announced, reporting last month on its cast, crew, and premiere plans.
The update this week is simpler: a movie built on clean fun still knows how to deliver it, and on Aug. 13 and 14, families will get to see for themselves.
