Influencer Brittany Lynn Lutz is reflecting on the recent death of her mother, and how her prayers still cover Lutz and her family today.
“My mom went to be with Jesus a month ago, and I miss her, and it’s devastating, and I feel vulnerable and exposed and raw and all the things,” she said in an Instagram video. “But one thing that I did not anticipate is that in her absence, I have felt the presence of her prayers that she has prayed over me and spoken over me, the life that she’s spoken over me, over the last 39 years.”
Lutz continued, “I can feel it as I sit here in the car today. It is almost like I have this powerful retaining wall encircling me as I go through life where, yes, things are going to happen. Yes, storms are going to come. But I had someone out there who had my back spiritually and who was covering me and even now, although she is gone, her words still live on.”
“She covered me, she covered my children, she covered my marriage, she covered my children’s children — kids, descendants that I will not even meet, because I will be long gone, will still be being covered by her prayers,” she shared. “And that has just encouraged me as a mom to continue to cover my kids in prayer. I want to be there for the rest of their life…but even if I am not there to witness all of that, I know that covering them in prayer and speaking the truth of God’s word over their lives will have a lasting effect.”

Lutz shared the news of her mother’s passing last month, writing on Instagram, “The greatest mom to ever exist and my best friend in the whole world went to be with Jesus and nothing will ever be the same.”
“One thing I know with absolute certainty is that I wouldn’t be here today had it not been for her prayers, her support, her love, her understanding, her guidance, her example,” the influencer shared, calling her mother “a powerful woman of God who never wavered when it came to her values and morals.”
Lutz continued, “She was meek and humble but fiercely protective of her people and knew her authority in Christ Jesus. The world has never seen an intercessor like her.”
Lutz often shares spiritual messages and encouragement on her social media page. In a recent post, she reminded her followers they can always find strength in the word of God.
“When anxiety, pain, heartache, opposition, attack, depression, tragedy, shame, insecurity, etc hits don’t retreat. don’t sit down. don’t complain. don’t get negative,” she wrote. “pick up your sword that is the Word of God and go confidently into battle knowing you’re on the winning side.”
With her recent Instagram post, Lutz reminds us just how strong our prayers can be.
