Mickey Mouse and Pluto have a Christmas dinner to defend — and families can watch the chaos unfold when MICKEY’S HOME ALONE premieres on Disney+ Nov. 27, the day after Thanksgiving.

“Our shows are often a child’s very first connection to the world of Disney, sparking the songs they sing, the characters they adore, and the adventures they want to live again and again,” said Disney Branded Television President Ayo Davis in August 2025, describing the company’s preschool lineup.

Now, Mickey’s next holiday outing has a spot on the calenda. Disney included the full-length animated special in its November streaming schedule, released Oct. 15, giving families a new option for Thanksgiving weekend.

According to Disney’s original announcement, Mickey wants to spend Christmas at home, but Minnie surprises the whole gang with tickets to a world-famous Ice Palace. In the scramble to get out the door, Mickey and Pluto get left behind.

Their unexpected quiet time doesn’t stay quiet for long. A raccoon and a weasel have their eyes on the Christmas dinner, leaving Mickey and Pluto to protect the house while Minnie and the others struggle to make their way back.

That recognizable setup goes back to the 1990 movie HOME ALONE, starring actor Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister. Kevin’s family leaves for Paris without him, and he finds himself defending the house against burglars while his mother races to get home.

For the new special, the destination changes from Paris to the Ice Palace, and the unwanted visitors have fur and an appetite. Minnie, meanwhile, has a problem Kevin’s mother would recognize: getting back to the person she left behind.

The music gives the production its own holiday playlist, too. Songwriter Keith Harrison Dworkin wrote the original songs “Ho-Ho-Home for Christmas” and “Favorite Christmas Feeling,” while the special also features a new arrangement of “Jingle Bells” and a score by composer Tony Morales.

Wild Canary produces the special in association with Disney Jr. Tom Rogers serves as executive producer, Rachel Ruderman as co-executive producer and Shane Prigmore as director.

MICKEY’S HOME ALONE is not the only new arrival competing for the family remote that week. Disney’s November schedule also places a SOFIA THE FIRST: ROYAL MAGIC holiday episode on Nov. 26 and the holiday special DASHER on Nov. 28, just after Mickey’s debut.

The June announcement also named Disney Jr. as a home for MICKEY’S HOME ALONE, but the Nov. 27 listing specifically establishes its Disney+ premiere. Families planning around a television airing should check the channel’s schedule separately rather than assume the streaming date applies there, too.

For now, Nov. 27 is the date to circle for Disney+ viewers. Mickey may have been forgotten in the rush to leave, but he and Pluto have a pretty clear assignment: save Christmas dinner until their friends can get home.
