Minnesota Vikings running back Zavier Scott reflected on the power of Jesus’ presence as he prepares for another NFL season.
“Jesus’ presence brings freedom and peace that surpasses understanding,” Scott wrote in a post on Instagram. “I’m grateful for His nearness during my 4th NFL training camp. Every step of the way has been established by God. He’s not done with any of us!”
He included two Bible verses at the end of the caption; the first was James 4:8: “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”
The second verse, Proverbs 16:9, reads, “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”
On social media, Scott also shares videos of different topics within the Christian faith. Earlier this summer, he talked about lukewarm Christianity.
“This message is for those who pray every now and again, who go to church every once in a while and who read their Bible rarely,” Scott said.

He told his followers that “this is a dangerous place to be.”
“God says that He will spit those who are lukewarm out of His mouth,” Scott explained. “Those who are on the fence belong to Satan. As hard as that is to hear, as we near the end times, this is no longer a time to play around. We must be in our Word. We must know what is coming.”
“If you do not know what’s coming, you will be deceived, and I do not want to see my brothers deceived,” the running back continued. “If you’re at this place in your life, that means one, you understand you’re a sinner in need of a savior, but now you have to understand that there will be a judgment coming, and in that time, the master deceiver is going to take shots. He’s not going to go lightly, but when you have this word in your heart, you can be assured that you will make it through.”
“But be encouraged; it’s not too late to repent and do the will of God, which is to have a relationship with Jesus. We will end up in heaven, where there is no more sorrow, no more pain, no more tears,” he emphasized.
As Scott enters his fourth NFL season, he does so knowing that Jesus is the only person who gives true freedom and peace as he faces each day.
