HEARTLAND star Shaun Johnson recently talked about his character, Willis Hamilton, from Great American Family’s CROSSROAD SPRINGS.
“Willis is, you know, the patriarch of the family, runs the Red Oak Ranch,” Johnson revealed in a recent teaser for Season 2. “We get a glimpse of Willis being a little more willing to feel compassion in his life and a little bit more willing to express it.”
He hinted that Season 2 contains “comfort” and “surprises” for viewers.
GAF president Bill Abbot said CROSSROAD SPRINGS is designed to inspire with heartfelt characters and relatable themes.
The show is about the Hamilton family, who have to work together to keep their country ranch in operation. Two adult siblings pause their careers to return to the ranch and help out.

Season 2’s synopsis reads, “Siblings James and Janet return home to their family ranch, where they face old wounds, financial hardship, and a decades-long feud with a neighboring farm; amid the challenges, James starts a cowboy church where faith, family, and ranch life go hand in hand.”
The cast includes Jonathan Stoddard, Emily Alatalo, Kate Drummond, Brittany Underwood, Jesse Hutch, WHEN HOPE CALLS’ Jon McLaren, Erin Agostino and Franco Lo Presti.

Brittany Underwood, who plays Maggie Johnson in the series, attended 2026’s Movieguide® awards. She enjoys acting in CROSSROAD SPRINGS because it is “faith and family-friendly, and everyone can sit down and watch it…We’re excited to do that type of content,” she said.

Season 2 will stream on Sept. 3 on Great American Pure Flix and on Sept. 5 on Great American Family and GFam+.
