What You Need To Know

HUDSON AND REX is an Up Faith and Family crime drama that focuses on investigator Charlie Hudson and his dog Rex as they work to solve crimes. In episode 601, Hudson helps search for missing tour boat passengers held hostage by a criminal who wants 10 million dollars in exchange, or else the passengers won’t make it back alive. One of the passengers is a pharmaceutical billionaire, believed to be the motivation for the ransom. Will Hudson and Rex rescue the missing passengers before it’s too late?

HUDSON AND REX begins with a whale tour boat whose passengers and crew suddenly disappear, and the ship returns empty. Charlie Hudson and his dog Rex arrive on the scene to investigate the disappearance. Hudson explores the boat, and nothing seems unusual at first. One person says that maybe ghosts took them and offers to fly a drone to help search for the passengers. Hudson learns that a pharmaceutical billionaire is on the boat, and 9-1-1 informs them that they received a ransom demand with a kidnapper threatening to kill the passengers if he doesn’t receive 10 million dollars.

The team learns that one of the passengers was traveling with a fake ID. The kidnapper sends a video of him shooting one of the search team members, but later, we learn that the victim was never shot and was the kidnapper. The search drone is shot down, which indicates where the kidnapper took the hostages, so Hudson and Rex swim to the location to remain unseen. The criminal, Gus, wants to shoot the dog but is talked out of it by his partner. Hudson knocks Gus out by punching him in the face and handcuffs his partner, rescuing the hostages. The hostages reunite with their families.

Episode One of Season Six of HUDSON AND REX is high quality, entertaining, and detailed. The series has a biblical/moral worldview as Hudson tries to bring criminals to justice and do the right thing. It contains some light violence, so MOVIEGUIDE recommends guidance for older children.
