Is It Any Good?
Four stars for sweet, heartfelt plotlines; excellent puppet work and sets; and a great performance from Cameron, one of the few “human” actors on the show.
Each episode offers a lesson about something children will face in their own lives, whether it’s learning to keep trying or understanding that the rules your parents set are meant to keep you safe.
There are plenty of funny moments, too, and children will love watching these characters learn new things and play together. In the end, this values-driven series is an excellent pick for Christian families.
The Worldview
A strong Christian worldview anchors the episodes. Characters talk openly about faith, pray together, and bless the viewers at home. Cameron tells Iggy and the audience that God gives us parents to keep us safe and prays with Iggy before bed each night.
At the end of Episode 2, he speaks a blessing over the “adventurers” watching the show. The episodes also carry strong moral themes. Characters learn to show kindness, gentleness, and good friendship.
Episode 3 includes a character who lies to Iggy so his plant won’t grow. The episodes also contain some action violence. In each episode, Cameron reads a book to Iggy and his friends, and some of these stories include intense scenes.
One character breaks an arm, villains burn down a town and fight people, and other bad characters destroy a special tree. These moments appear only as still pictures from the books but may upset some younger viewers. Otherwise, this one remains family-friendly.
