Country singer Chase Rice wants to avoid deviating from God’s plan.
“I had a lady tell me one time, she said, ‘Chase, do you — do you want to know what a version of hell would be for me?’” he recalled during an episode of the “Artist Friendly” podcast. “I said, ‘I’m not sure I do. I’m about to find out, I guess.’”
Rice shared, “And she said, ‘You die, you go to heaven, God lets you in and then He sits you down and says, ‘Okay, now I’m gonna show you what your life would have been like if you had gone by My plan.’”
“That’s what I’m trying to avoid in my life,” he finished. “My plan is probably not even close to as cool as whatever God really has for you if you just listen to Him.”
In a 2020 letter to his younger self for The Players’ Tribune, Rice shared how his faith helped him navigate the devastating loss of his father when he was still in college.
“Remember the one thing he would tell you every chance he got. Chase, no matter what — no matter how high or how low you get — remember Dad’s mantra and … Keep God first in your life,” the country singer wrote. “When things get really rough, remember Dad looking you dead in the eye, and getting real serious, and telling you that everything was going to work out OK just as long as you….Keep. God. First.”
In a 2022 interview with Fox News, Rice said he has “lived a very, very blessed life,” adding, “A lot of things — some things — just fall in my way, which is awesome. At the end of the day, I’ve also worked extremely hard for many of those successes to come my way.”
He recently returned to the studio after taking some time off and not touring in 2026.
“Back in the studio. Some time off at the start of the year, then right into Red Rocks and Stagecoach was wild,” he wrote in an April Instagram post. “I was having FUN on stage again. I know it hasn’t been long, but it made me miss it.”
He continued, “Now I’ve got a little more time off to go live life, be with friends, golf, write, record, drink, watch THE CHOSEN, not drink, fish, travel, see my niece and nephews and be with family. I don’t know what that’s gonna do for these songs, but I can’t wait to find out. Love y’all, thanks for a fun ride.”
As Rice continues to navigate the music industry, the country singer is keeping God and His plan first.
