FIXER TO FABULOUS star Jenny Marrs asked fans to pray as her son Ben headed into surgery on Oct. 29, when familiar faces at the hospital offered her an extra measure of support.
“Will yall say a prayer for Ben?” she wrote in an Instagram Story alongside a photo of the two.
Jenny explained that Ben needed surgery for a torn meniscus. Later that day, she reported that the operation went better than expected and that the family had brought him home to settle in, according to EntertainmentNow.
But the day brought more than a medical update. From the hospital, Jenny shared a connection between Ben’s care team and his grandmother. Her mother-in-law Donna, the mother of fellow HGTV host Dave Marrs, had worked in that hospital and on that floor for years.
“Ben’s surgeon is a friend and Donna was his nurse,” Jenny shared in another Instagram Story, posted over a photograph of hospital equipment. “He prayed over our boy and all of Donna’s nurse friends have stopped in to hug me and check on Ben.”

“Goodness I miss her especially on days like today,” she added.
Jenny and Dave have five children and live in a restored farmhouse in Bentonville, Arkansas, according to Jenny’s official biography. She co-hosts FIXER TO FABULOUS with Dave and describes her work beyond design as advocacy for community transformation, family preservation and orphan care.
Prayer also fits the way Jenny describes her life beyond television. Her official website puts faith alongside design, storytelling and the family’s Berry Farm work, with faith first on the list.
“My faith is the foundation of all that I do,” she wrote in her website’s introduction, where she also shared the story behind her memoir, Trust God, Love People. “I’ve learned that God is trustworthy even in the moments when I feel fearful, worn out, or dejected.”
Jenny’s updates did not explain how Ben sustained the injury or give a timetable for returning to his regular activities. The encouraging news was more immediate: He had made it through surgery and was back home, with healing still ahead.
Her account put prayer alongside the practical care Ben received, from the surgeon preparing for the operation to the nurses checking on the family. After inviting followers to pray that morning, Jenny ended the day by thanking them and turning her attention to helping her son recover.
